Scheduling Your First Session
After selecting a therapist from your match results, you can schedule your first session directly through our platform.

Navigate to Your Dashboard
Log into your Pleiades account and go to your client dashboard. Under "My Therapist," you'll see an option to "Book an Appointment" with your selected therapist.

Select a Session Type
Choose the type of session you'd like to schedule:
- Initial Consultation (15 minutes) - A brief introduction to meet your therapist
- Short Session (30 minutes) - A regular therapy session
- Standard Session (60 minutes) - For in-depth work or specific therapeutic techniques

Choose Session Format
Select your preferred format:
- Video Session - Virtual face-to-face meeting
- In-Person Session - If your therapist offers this option and is located near you

View Available Times
You'll see a calendar showing your therapist's available appointment slots. Only available times will be displayed.

Select Date and Time
Click on your preferred date and time slot. The system will automatically adjust for your time zone.

Confirm Your Appointment
Review the appointment details and confirm. You'll receive a confirmation email with all the session information.
Setting Up Recurring Sessions
Many clients prefer to establish a regular therapy schedule. To set up recurring sessions:
- Schedule a single session following the steps above
- After selecting a time, you'll see an option for "Make this a recurring appointment"
- Choose your preferred frequency (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly)
- Select how many sessions you'd like to schedule in advance (up to 8)
- Confirm the recurring appointment schedule
Consistency Matters
Research shows that consistent therapy sessions at regular intervals often lead to better outcomes. Most therapists recommend weekly sessions when starting therapy.
Rescheduling Sessions
Life happens, and sometimes you may need to reschedule a session. Here's how:
- Go to your dashboard and find "Upcoming Appointments"
- Find the session you need to change and click "Cancel"
- Select a new date and time from the available slots
- Confirm the new appointment time
Cancellation Policy
Please note that most therapists require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling to avoid being charged. Late cancellations or no-shows will result in a full or fee being charged.
Managing Your Schedule
The "My Schedule" section of your dashboard provides several useful features:
- Upcoming Appointments - View all scheduled sessions
- Calendar Integration - Add sessions to your personal google calendar with Apple and Outlook coming soon
- Appointment Reminders - Set up email or text reminders
Setting Up Session Reminders
To ensure you never miss an appointment, you can customize how and when you receive reminders:
- Go to "Account Settings" and select "Notifications"
- Under "Session Reminders," choose your preferred method (email, text, or both)
- Select how far in advance you'd like to be reminded with options from (1 day to 1 hour before your session)
- Save your preferences
Technical Preparation
For virtual sessions, it's important to test your technology beforehand:
- 15 minutes before your first session, you'll see a "Test Connection" button
- This will check your internet connection, camera, and microphone
- Make any necessary adjustments before your session begins
- Have a backup plan (like a phone number) in case of technical issues
